Our client is a web agency located in the center of The Netherlands. They devise, design and develop websites with a spark: projects that have something special, a feature that raises eyebrows.
With love, dedication and the regular beer they work on websites and online projects that stand out. Our client works with WordPress as CMS. But because WordPress also has some less-than- ideal aspects, they have developed the DraadCore™: a piece of customized PHP that improves a number of functionalities included in WordPress, such as creating custom posts and related fields.
This results in the need for fewer plugins and a faster and sturdier website. The websites they make are provided with a convenient and very good Page Builder. Think of it as a large box of bricks with drag-and- drop elements that you can place wherever you want. This makes every website completely modular and ready for future expansions.
What kind of person are we looking for?
To complete their team, we’re looking for a front-end developer with strong CSS skills. They have a very specific working method. Design and WordPress development is done by them in The Netherlands, they need you to do the styling for the pages, elements and of course responsiveness.
Every project will start with a briefing from their side. They will provide the designs in Sketch, give you access to the WordPress environment that they created. This WP environment contains all pages and elements that need to be styled, along with a detailed spreadsheet in which all classes and base styling is determined. Your work will start from there, to create the website as they designed it. Ideally you will come up with cool hovers and transitions to create the Wow-effect that we’re aiming for.
What qualifications are we looking for:
– Extensive knowledge and experience with CSS 3
– Extensive knowledge of HTML
– Experience with pre-processors like SASS and LESS
– Experience with Javascript & jQuery
– Some experience with WordPress development
– Some experience with WooCommerce is a plus
– Basic knowledge of PHP is a plus
– Fluent in English, both verbal and written
– Creative and outgoing as a person. You’re a valuable addition to their team
– Willing to travel to The Netherlands on a regular basis
