About our client
Our client invents fresh and creative IT solutions that have an impact. From web apps to websites and from APIs to mobile apps.
They consist of a mix of young talent and experienced specialists with a shared passion for new techniques and innovative product design.
It is the place where customer, culture and passion for digital products come together and are most important. They want their customers to enjoy working with them in the same way as they enjoy solving the challenges they bring to them.
They develop their products through sustainable and scalable code. This allows code to be easily reused within the application and these applications can be developed quickly and well.
What kind of person are we looking for?
Our client is expanding at lightning speed and that is why they are looking for you. Within their team you act as the backbone of their lead developers and you help to make every project a success.
You are eager to learn and have spent the necessary hours on Laracasts. You take responsibility for the project and communicate hourly with your team. In addition, you think solution-oriented without affecting the quality of the code.
Examples of projects you can work on include: Splickr, Optimum Group, HypotheekCompany and Niek Wessels.
What will your week look like?
On Monday morning the client starts with a weekly team meeting where they discuss the planning, the successes of last week and where they can improve. That way they are constantly looking at how they can improve their work and collaboration. They also determine new goals for the coming week, which come back daily in the daily stand-up. After the team meeting you start with a project, often you sit with others in a project but it is also possible that you work alone on a project. After lunch they do a stand-up. In the daily stand-up, everyone briefly explains what they have done, what they are going to do and what possible bottlenecks there are. Here they also view the week goals of that week. Then you start coding again. When you have completed your work, the working day is over. The following days, with the exception of the team meeting, look almost the same, so that work can be done on the projects.
The client thinks it is important to constantly look at what they do well and where there is improvement. That is why they have a monthly developer meeting. This meeting is open to everyone and the points that are on the agenda come from the team itself. In this meeting, issues such as Sass vs. Less, Laravel Dusk and choices made internally are discussed. In addition, a senior developer often presents a piece of code that he is proud of and essential for the team to understand. To give the team a good idea of how their organization is doing, they have quarterly meetings. This section discusses the quarter with, among other things, commercial figures, financial figures and operational figures. This way they always remain in control of the organization and the team knows exactly how the company is doing.
