What kind of person are we looking for?
Internet Brands and Nolo are looking are looking for a Lead PHP Developer to join our team. As a lead engineer at Nolo, you will help develop a new product and improve existing services. You will be working on taking our best selling Willmaker app to the cloud. We’re forming a small team to build a modern application framework for Willmaker from the ground up.
Hours: Prefer 4 hour overlap with US EST working hours (9am-6pm)
About the product:
Willmaker is a flagship product at Nolo. It helps customers create complex legal documents such as Wills and Trusts. We’re working on building the next generation of Willmaker in the cloud so customers can securely create and manage their legal documents on the web.
About you:
– You have 7+ years of experience with backend technologies, preferably PHP.
– You are familiar with MVC frameworks such as Laravel.
– You have a strong track record of building and shipping modern javascript applications such as React/Vue/Angular.
– You have a deep understanding of how web browsers work, understand web servers well, and troubleshoot performance issues.
– You understand web security, auth frameworks, and protocols such as OAuth and know how to scale APIs.
– You are good at applying data structures to real-world problems.
– You are very comfortable working with databases.
– You can set up CI/CD for your projects and help others do it.
– You’re happy to do design and code reviews with your team, colleagues, and managers.
– You have experience leading development teams and are happy to mentor juniors.
– You are good at applying data structures to real-world problems.
– GraphQL experience would be a plus.
– Understanding SEO/SEM is a plus.
– If you have experience with Docker/Kubernetes, that would be a plus.
